Berk Nasi and Oksahan Demir need your support

A Ryerson University student, Berk Nasi, who was diagnosed with Leukemia last October and Okşahan Demir, 29 year old girl who once recovered from Lymphatic Cancer but this time diagnosed with a similar disease, need both your help for finding a stem cell match.

The probability of finding a stem cell match is much higher among the individuals from the same geographical background (i.e. genetic pool); therefore, Berk asks for the help of the members of the Turkish community in Canada/Toronto, especially those aged 17 and 35.

Canadian Blood Services /OneMatch are holding an event to speed up the compatibility testing process. Participants may take the cheek swab test during this event, which will be held at the Ryerson University, on Thursday, February 12th, 2015. The event is open to public; anyone who is between the ages of 17-35 and holds a valid health card from one of the Canadian Provinces except Quebec, is welcome to participate and take the swab test.

Time: Thursday, February 12th, 2015, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Address: Ryerson University, 350 Victoria Street, M5B 0A1, POD 61by Starbucks (Across from the Askme RU Info Desk)
