Children ages (5-18) residing in Canada who meet funding guidelines may apply anytime. Here are some of the FAQ’s:
- How can you apply?
Application can be found on Just4kics website under the (apply now!) tab located on the menu above. www.just4kics.ca - Who is eligible to apply?
Children ages (5-18) residing in Canada, are eligible for funding for a sport or recreational activity within their community. - How much of the registration cost is covered by just4kics?
Depending on the families financial situation, just4kics will cover the entire amount of the registration costs, along with provide new/used equipment and cover travel related costs. - What documents are required to be submitted along with the application?
Just4Kics requires 3 specific documents along with the application in order to do a full review. they are;
current years tax return/notice of assessment from each adult residing at the household listed on the application, 4 of your latest consecutive pay stubs from your current employer an endorsement letter from someone in a professional position to assess and vouch for the families need for assistance.
a) What if you are divorced, do you need your ex-spouses tax return as well?
no, Just4Kics only requires tax returns from each adult living in the home listed on the application.
b) What if you are currently unemployed and don’t have recent pay stubs?
Most likely you will be collecting unemployment insurance, Just4Kics require your last 4 statement of benefits.
c) Who is accepted to write your endorsement letter?
Just4Kics will accept endorsement letters from the following only: teacher, principle, lawyer, family doctor, accountant, employer, member of clergy, police officer, social worker or family services worker - What sports/recreational activities are eligible for funding?
We support any activity that includes competition and physical activity for an extended period of time. - What types of programs are not supported by just4kics?
Any type of camp, schools/academys, or programs that do not include sport or physical activity are not funded by just4kics. if you need clarification on whether your chosen program is supported contact Just4Kics before submitting the application. - If you have more than 1 child can you get assistance for your other children as well?
Yes, as long as the child(ren) are living under the same address more than 1 child can be approved for funding. - How is the money distributed?
Just4kics does not give any funds to the family directly. They will send a cheque to the organization on the families behalf after the child has been approved for funding.
